Well, the story was just warming up and then your suspended until the next book. I really get annoyed by these short reads that just get you involved and then stop so you have to get the next book to see what happens next. I did not spend much time looking into the reviews to find out it was incomplete so I give it a 2 and 1/2 rating. I also wanted to mention that it is a incomplete story. The writing isn't bad but moved a little fast in certain spots. The couple were not sleeping together it was little abrupt moments in the story that just changed direction so fast it felt unbelievable. For insistence, the H is Alex and he is a fireman (hot right?) and at one point a fire erupts, I won't give details but one minute he holds his son, as the h Elsie reassures her daughter. The two begin to ask about her dog when all of the sudden Alex is dressed in full gear to go in the flames. There was no in between. Anyhow the other problem I had was sort of a pet peeve of mine and it was that Alex lost his wife there is no mention how long it's been and their son is still struggling as is Alex. Whenever she is mentioned he tears up but yet he wants to move forward wit Elsie. I just couldn't feel secure in the idea. I thought the author should have separated the two. Who knows maybe she will in the books that follow. The two are just starting to build a foundation when the book leaves you wanting.
I can't say I'll continue unless they also are on the freebie list because I can't say the story leaves me wanting to watch the H mourn his late wife but yet convince me love between would be strong between H/h. If you are really attracted to another like the story is implying choking up at the mere mention of your late wife speaks you have not gotten over your feelings. I think it's called rebound and not for me. That is just my opinion and if it does not bother you than you may enjoy the story as it moves slow with the couple learning about the other, just a few aspects I couldn't go without mentioning. Enjoy!!

Summer Spark A Contemporary Romance Novella Four Seasons Serial Book 1 eBook Ginnie Carmichael Reviews
The book caught my interest at the beginning - story too short. Looking forward to part 2. Will buy today
Despite the cliffhanger ending, I am not really rushing to read the second installment in this series… It is a very quick read and the authordoes not really develop the characters enough.
Cute summer read.
Didn't like that the book was so continued. Easy story to follow. I will now have to read next book to see what happened to apolle
Thought the 30+ heroine acted more like the 14 year old daughter --- but my main gripe was ending this "novella" portion with little or no warning!!! If you are in to cliff-hangers, go ahead and try it -- but be warned! Personally I think even "serial" works owe more to the reader than such an abrupt cut off!!
This short story is a feel good, lighthearted, steady paced love story that starts off a romance series. Although it is very short the reader will enjoy the story from the beginning and will become intrigued at the cliff hanger in the end. The characters come off as normal people with normal lives who just so happen to be dealing with all the things and unpredictability that life comes with.
When Elsie meets Alex the reader can already become hopeful at the prospective romance that will come out of their first encounter. I enjoyed reading this short story and think that the author has something good going with this series. Although I have only read this first short story I am interested in reading the rest of her series. The writing style was good and the plot was easy to follow, this is most definitely a fun read to relax and enjoy on a normal day.
What an awesome story!! Keep in mind, it's a novella and only 69 pages but it sure packs a punch, Elsie used to always doing everything on her own meets Alex and she falls for him and falls fast. She is a single mom to Sophie and guards her heart but with Alex she can't seem to help herself. Just when everything is going great and Elsie accepts the fact that maybe what she feels for Alex is real and good......well, I can't tell you what happens but wow!!!
I cant wait to continue reading this series! I'm on A quest to read all of Ginnys books.......they are just that good!!
